Sewer Replacement in Beacon

Multiple Backups Indicate You May Need a Sewer Line Replacement
There comes a point when you just can’t – or don’t want to – deal with sewer troubles anymore. That was the case for our customers out in Beacon, NY.
Unbeknownst to them, they had extensive roots clogging up their waste line. After years of sewer line maintenance, and dealing with periodic backups, they decided it was time for a sewer line replacement.
Our expert plumbers here at T. Webber Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning installed a new 4 inch sewer line with a clean out for easy future access. To protect the pipe, we backfilled the area with sand.
This was a successful job because we took control of the situation early, and the homeowners knew exactly when it was time for replacement. That won’t always be the case, though, which is why we want to help you be prepared in case it ever happens to you.
Signs You Need a Sewer Line Replacement
- Slow to drain, or not draining, sinks: If water is backing up into your tub or is not draining from your sinks then your sewer pipes are more than likely blocked. Any unusual gurgling sounds coming from your drains are pretty good indications, too.
- Standing water: Check the sewer pipe from where your home meets the city’s sewer system. Do you see any puddles of water, or soft spots in the yard? If so, it’s probably a broken sewer line.
- Toilet bowl fails to fill: The water in your toilet should always fill up as normal, so if it doesn’t you know you have a problem.
- Sewage smell: No, this is not normal! A sewage smell is not only gross, but it can be dangerous to your health if inhaled too much. Don’t ignore it – as it’s likely a problem with your sewer line.
